COC ON TOP: A CROWN OF THORNS AND THISTLES FOR ACHIEVERS
It is no secret that students from the College of Champions dominate Latin Awards during commencement exercises. So what can be done? Is it the fault of COCians to be that good? People from other colleges could hardly accept the fact, even throwing shades at COCians for being on top. Unmoved and indignant, COCians are ever ready to prove just how wrong they are.
“Chicken na chicken lang naman ‘yung courses nila eh,” a group of students from CEA was overheard chatting.
Students outside COC usually say that COCians graduate with Latin honors because their subjects are “just a piece of cake.” The truth is, COCians have to meddle with so many communication theories and models in order to survive their courses. They have to understand how one theory differs from another and know when to properly apply them. This proves to be a great challenge especially in reviewing pieces of literature and utilizing them for research output . Some research papers would be submitted to different conferences and competitions—demanding accuracy in analysis and utilization.
