ICOMMUNICATE XII: LEAP

LUKSO BANDS WHO TOOK THE LEAP

DODI

All the way from Bicol, Dodi is a 4-piece band ready to take over the local scene with their music. Looks like we ought to see for ourselves what they have to offer. What better way to check them out than to follow them on their social media accounts? Go hit that like button.

ALEX CORNER

First of all, it’s not really Alex-- it’s Alec. He was standing on a corner one day and realized he wanted to make music, thus, “Alex Corner”. We actually made that up but it makes sense, right? So the guy basically started out as an instrumentalist, and then eventually a vocalist himself. You can check him out on your favourite streaming sites; he’s got a lot of singles and an EP and so much more in store on his corner.

UDS

UDS is “Ur Daily Storyteller”. They basically write songs from our stories, from real people and real experiences. Check them out and you might just find the right song that would speak for you, or to you. You’ll never know.

RECKLESS THURSDAY

Pop punk/emo band Reckless Thursday is slowly making its name in the industry. Formed in 2012, the band’s been around the scene playing gigs and doing covers, and put out an EP called Damage. Listen to it now, thank us later.

THE SUBSPRING

Since 2014, the band’s been around the music scene. They have shared their very first 14-track demo/ album last 2016 and are still blessing our ears with rock and roll. Listen to their album Manifesto on Soundcloud.

DEATH BY ELEPHANT

If you’re a fan of Indie Noise Pop, they just might be the band for you! Death By Elephant has been making awesome music since 2012. These Manileños already have a good number of songs up for listening if you ever decide to check their music out. And you should. Trust us.

BEFORE SUNSET

Before Sunset was born just on the first quarter of 2017! They are an alternative rock band from Quezon City and are conquering the local music scene one song at a time. Check out their very first single October, and be the judge.

ROOM 14

An up and coming 6-piece band that started out doing covers and jamming to their favourite songs on school events. They eventually were able to write their own songs with music geared towards the synth rock genre. Just this year, they put out their very first single, “Wanderer”. Listen to them now and watch out for their future releases!

CREATEURS

This band’s very clear on what their goal is: they want to create an art and music album that would speak of topics that people always run away from. They want to create an escape and a confrontation at the same time. And while this is still being cooked and processed to perfection, you can check out some singles they’ve released so far on all listening platforms you can think of and we assure you, it’s pure gold.

DEMI

If you are looking for a band with the kind of music that you’d definitely bang your head to and just really indulge in pure rock and roll, you’re in luck! Demi has been serving good music since 2012. Their EP, Walang Imposible, which was released in 2015, and some more singles are available for your listening pleasure. You’re welcome.

SWEET SAYONARA

We’re pretty sure you’ve heard their name before just floating around the indie music scene. This pop punk band has officially released an original song entitled Tres, but usually they wow their fans with song covers from popular bands in the punk scene. Make sure to check them out because we’re pretty sure this band’s going to be big.

BENNYBUNNYBAND

BennyBunnyBand has always been a crowd favorite in the campus. They have played in several shows here and have always said that PUP will always have a special place in their hearts. The three-piece call their sound “KunehoRock”. It’s kind of strange but it sounds really good so we’ll take it. Listen to their EP, Nagmamahal, BennyBunnyBand which was released last September 15.
