SIZZLING SISIG Krisping, named after the owners’ nicknames Ate Kris and Kuya Ping, is best recognized for its version of the classic pork sisig. Theirs is fried minced pork with chopped onions, doused in a secret sauce, sautéed and cooked to perfection. Krisping’s serving of sisig does not stray far from tradition, yet its sizzling and smoky aroma alone is sure to make you drool. Their pork sisig can be served in two ways depending on your taste buds and preference. Whether you want it mixed with rich mayonnaise or with a whole egg on top of your sizzling platter, the sisig tastes equally tangy, creamy and delicious. It is, of course, best served with a heap of freshly cooked fried rice and a refreshing drink.
One would just love the uniqueness of Krisping sisig’s smoky and savory taste. It has a balanced flavor of saltiness that blends well with a little chili concoction, adding spicy jolt to each bite. As compared to other brands of sisig found near PUP, Krisping’s best-seller is surprisingly less greasy, allowing you to enjoy spoonfuls of crunchy meaty goodness. Meanwhile, the prices vary according to the size of your squad. If you are a solo eater, you can have sisig for as low as forty-five pesos. But surely, the unequalled flavour is best experienced when shared with peers. For only 110 pesos, you can get two full plates of sisig good for three with a free liter of iced tea. Aside from sisig, Krisping has a menu of delightful, traditional Filipino dishes. Their list includes pinakbet, ginataang manok, afritada, dinuguan, lechong paksiw, fried chicken and tortang talong. It is also noteworthy to mention that patrons of Krisping keep coming back not only because of the taste and affordability but also because of the warm reception and sense of connection it gives to its customers.
As Ate Kris said, “Marami na kaming napapatapos na estudyante,” referring to PUP students who have been regular customers of Krisping throughout their entire stay in the university.
